When I first started smoking cigars I thought rating cigars was something only an expert could do. I was wrong. Everyone should have some kind of system in place for deciding which cigars they like and which ones they will leave alone in the future. Personally, I use a traditional 100 point scale because there is just so much nuance with cigars that is missed with a simpler scale. You need to focus on key attributes of a good cigar like flavor, appearance, the draw, and the burn. But when you strip it all down you are just figuring out which cigars you enjoy more, which is the main reason we started smoking cigars in the first place. Right?
