La Floridita Limited Edition Cigar Review

This La Floridita Limited Edition cigar comes from Famous Smoke; thanks!

Upon first inspection this cigar looks fairly well made. Perhaps it is a little too tightly packed and there are some medium sized veins that run all along the wrapper. Other than that it looks like a good cigar. Maduro wrapper and very stout in appearance. Basically, a nub with an extra inch or so added onto it.

After getting the neighborhood arsonist to help me light this cigar (it is nearly an inch in diameter) I am greeted with some very pleasant flavors. Smoked hickory, a little bit of chocolate and grassy flavors (especially earlier on). There’s also some earthiness to this cigar.

What came as a minor surprise to myself was that this cigar has a good draw. It had felt tight to the touch before I lit it but, now that it is lit, everything is going well. The burn is pretty even having only required a minor touc up about halfway through. Medium bodied for sure.

This cigar is decent. One thing that I just can’t get over, however, about this cigar is that there is this permeating ashy flavor present. It’s like a thin veil over all the other flavors, which are slightly better than average. In the end, that ashy flavor knocks this cigar down for me a couple of pegs.

  1. Good review on a good cigar. OK, I’m admittedly biased, but all of the La Floridita cigars are well made and tasty. I just bought a bundle of the La Floridita Pancho in the natural wrapper and they’ve been great. Honestly, until recently, I didn’t pay them much attention. If you liked the Limited you reviewed here, which IMO is a real sleeper, the new La Floridita Fuerte edition is well worth trying, too. It’s one of the reasons I’ve taken a second look at all of the lines.
